I need all you teenagers/ parents of teens out there...?

Okay, so I am just became a foster parent to a 16 year old girl who was abused by her mother. I can't think of good meal ideas. If you were going to a strangers house what kind of things would you like to eat? I am planning on having chips, pizza %26amp; stuff like that but what else? Thanks in advance!I need all you teenagers/ parents of teens out there...?
awww bless you.

and good luck, i know you're probably nervous.

but i would just ask her!

what if she hates pizza, ya know??

just ask.

:]I need all you teenagers/ parents of teens out there...?
I, personally, wouldn't choose pizza and chips as the best ';first impression'; meal, but that's just me.

I'd go for pastas - fettichini alfredo, particularly, because it's definatly not too fancy, many people like it, and it's rather homely.

Ice cream, definatly ice cream. ;)

If we're going along the pizza and chip mindset, pigs in a blanket is always a nice (but certainly not the healthiest) choice. Little hotdogs wrapped in bread (croissant is my very favorite) and put in the oven, delicious.

Good luck with your foster child!
Chips %26amp; pizza are not very nutritious. Okay to use as treats once in a while but hopefully you'll be giving her more balanced meals. Just ask her what she likes and take her shopping with you. Have her help prepare the meals too so she'll feel included and be more likely to eat them.

Usually by 16 kids know they need to eat some healthy foods too. There are easy ways to spruce up veggies like ';candied carrots'; where I slice %26amp; steam carrots till they're slightly soft, then mix in butter or healthy spread, brown sugar and a bit of cinnamon then mix until the carrots are coated.
spizzas are great and chips lovely, but healthy eating is better. This could be one thing thing you give this child that she could carry thru her life. If you teach her to cook that way you will spend quality time together and give her a skill she may not have, It does not have to be boring and can be great fun. Give her the recipe book and get her to choose what she would like to make even if it is home made burgers ,they are so much better for you. Go shopping together for the ingredients and then cook and eat together. This will be great bonding time and she will always remember the person who taught her to cook and eat well. Good luck x
Thats good but not very healthy, so don't have it all the time.

By 16 years old she's probably not very picky so try new things.

Examples: hamburgers, soup, pasta, chicken, BLTs, steak, potatoes and vegetables.

Think of something for the first meal and then ask her what she wants. Its important to make her feel important, and happy.
(im 16)don't make anything to crazy like casserole soup or lazangna because i hate eating other people foods like that ..i have to become used to them..but anyway i would make hamburgers, and french fries, and fruit macaroni and cheese, pancakes, bacon..pizza is a good i dea
cupcakes

spaghetti

sandwiches

chicken fingers

salad

hamburgers

tacos

hotdogs

soft drinks

smoothies

granola bars

cereal

mini bags of chips

pretzels

soup

BBQ

veggies %26amp; fruit

just some stuff that we have around my house and some things we make for dinner haha
Take her to the store and pick it out together. I bet she's never had a delicious home cooked meal. Try something everybody likes such as pot roast with veggies, meat loaf, baked chicken casserole, stuff like that.
hmmmm..how bout well..i would really want some sour gummy worms waiting for me...but thats just me im a sour freak..it depends on what she likes..but the pizza and chips thing is a great idea...im glad you adoped her...at least she can grow up in a safe environment
well you should first check if she is a vegan/vegetarian

because i know i am and when i go to visit someone i have a hard time eating.
Have a lot of cool fruit, like kiwis, mangoes, peaches...

Healthy and fun.. and probably a treat, coming from a home like that.
i think you should make her a nice home cooked meal that makes her feel like shes welcome and loved

chips and pizza and stuff just seems like your gtn the easy way out :)

goooooooood luck
Coming from an abusive home I don't think she'd have had wholesome, healthy and adventurous meals so tray spicy chicken, stir fries etc.
pizza is always a favorite also hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, chicken tenders really anything greasy and quick
I personally like barbeque's. You should through some yummy food on the grill and have a great outside meal. Then go down by the fire and talk. =)
buy a variety of foods

pizzas always good

\mac and cheese

hot dogs

pasta

then tell her you guyswill g shopping soon and she can pick out some things she likes
Well, the best way to figure that out is to ask the person who will be eating.
Ask her what she likes, if she is making it hard. Get some McDonalds everybody likes that.
i would say you should ask her what she likes

take her out some where

give her some nutritious stuff though so she doesn't feel as though you are just feeding her crap so she likes you
I agree with the first post - take her to the grocery store and have her pick out what she likes!
Bake cookies! Everyone likes cookies. ;)
Give her something she wants, but don't overspoil her at the same me.
let her go to the store with you and let her choose some foods with your guidance of course
i agree with jennifer m.

=]
Why don't you ask what she likes and maybe to go to the store with you.
ask her what she likes. then u can give her that.
