Not everyone who attends college has to pay for it. I believe four years of college or university are free in many very progressive countries, including Britain and Australia. Promoting and supporting a better educated population is no disadvangtage to any country. The US and Canada would do well to make post-secondary education more reachable for more students. I got a chance to attend training in an expanded role for females (signal school); and I was ALL I could be in a short time due to an unfortunate injury. Anyway, I married at 19, my eldest child was born the month after I turned 23. I tell you youngsters, the fantasy of wanting a family and the reality is like the difference between ';Barney and Godzilla';.
My advice to young people is the same that was given to me - ';Live your life, but don't be in a rush to get old.'; It seams like it takes forever to get from the beginning of the school year to the end; then the last year finally arrives.
Oh no! I don't have to go back to school this Fall :) The end of summer still happens; and either you are back in school [college/technical] or in the school of survival [working to finance your needs - not wants].
Give youself a pat on the back, and hold your hands up like a Champion - you have met your high shool requirments.

Both my grandchildren graduated from university this spring and neither had any loans or debts. They did it by themselves, and said it gave them more incentive to study and less comfort when goofing off. And that doesn't sound like a bad thing to me!

People who are not good at academics or having a learning disability are going to hate school because people make them feel substandard because they are not smart enough.
With all the polical correctness, and parents suing teachers and schools for talking about things they disapprove, there really isnt much room for actual real life learning in public high schools. You can learn what a stem cell is, but you cant discuss why some people are against embryonic stem cell research because some parent doesnt want their child learning about religion. Or you can learn about civilizations in history and sociology that were predominatly protestant, but you cant learn about groups of people who were wiccan because some parents dont want their children to know about other religions. You can discuss everything about the human body in science except the reproductive system because some parents dont want their children to know what sex is. With all the limits people put on what the public school can or cannot talk about, it really limits the scope of learning, discussion and debate.

In my opinion, I would take it case by case. For example, I wouldn't let my child ride to or from a concert with a friend. The energy level is too high and people get stupid off the adrenaline after the show. To Wal-Mart....a different story. I would also take it driver by driver. For the most part you can tell which one's are idiots behind the wheel.

i think its important to anyone, not just teenagers. although ive never really been able to make friends cus i got bullied when i was younger so i dont trust very easily etc..and i get jealous when i see friends that are really close and hang around alot together because i never had that. but im 18 now so ive kind of gone past the point of caring anymore.

I would start buy googleing/wiki ';Tesla Coil';. Find out what its going to take to make one. Once you do, try experimenting with florescent lights around the field of the coil etc. This should lead to some fun projects and you will learn much about Tesla, Electricity, and true perpetual energy. I know sounds odd, but I tried it on suggestion of someone when I was younger, and have learned so much about electricity and what can really be done with it.

I know some students at my school have started a new club and their first project is to raise money for kids in Africa with malaria. I'm starting up a project in my community as well. I'm petitioning to add a sandbox to my local playground. Doesn't seem like very much but it is to me. Try volunteering at hospitals or at your local library.

I don't think community service should be required. Encouraged, yes, but not forced. I think forcing people to do something like that runs too much of a risk of making them hate it, which in turn makes the chance that would choose to serve in the future much, much lower.

My advice to young people is the same that was given to me - ';Live your life, but don't be in a rush to get old.'; It seams like it takes forever to get from the beginning of the school year to the end; then the last year finally arrives.
Oh no! I don't have to go back to school this Fall :) The end of summer still happens; and either you are back in school [college/technical] or in the school of survival [working to finance your needs - not wants].

Students loans are available and if you don't want to go that route, and didn't qualify for some kind of scholarship, there are student jobs available on campus. Both my grandchildren graduated from university this spring and neither had any loans or debts. They did it by themselves, and said it gave them more incentive to study and less comfort when goofing off. And that doesn't sound like a bad thing to me!

If you didnt know, they also took prisoners in Pearl Harbor. They held them in a camp (Kind of like a death camp) and they stripped you naked and searched you. If you had any item that belonged to a Japanese Soldier, you were shot immediatly. If you had something that belonged to a Japanese officer or someone of higher rank, you were wrapped in barbed wire, and dragged around the camp until dead. Dragged around as in hooked onto a leach and dragged, not on your feet by the way, you were kind of laying down and being dragged. This is the kind of thing that said ';We dont care what you do, we'll kill your people.'; Obviously US could not let that stand. Sure, teenages and babies and men and women all were dying because of the atomic bombs, but this was in fact a time of war. If this was not done, then Japan would never quit, and would grow stronger.
Also it should be known that the US actually warned Japan (The Leader of Japan) that if they continued to be aggressive, the US would be forced to take drastic measures. Truman mentioned the bombs and their danger, but Japan's leader called the bluff, saying that we were lying. Of course, we warned them so we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. Also, it should be known that we warned them again that if they continued to be aggressive we'd drop another bomb. Truman said that he ';had a factory of the stuff waiting'; but the leader of japan, thinking that you could only have one of such a powerful weapon, didnt believe him. Thus the dropping of the bomb on Nagasaki. At that point Japan surrendered.
