It's because of the rapid decline in our youth's intelligence. As well as the text fad. Typing faster has become a must, therefore, some words have been 'cut'. And the use of the word 'like', is associated with the popular click. Although I think it makes your true personality disappear and you just look dumb.Why are teenagers typing so badly?
I don't know about why they say what they say, though I did it to as a teenager....I've noticed that SOME, not all, type poorly though because they are used to texting. They abbreviate everything when they text, and it pours over to their typing on the computer which is quite bothersome when you have no idea what the abbreviations mean.

I guess they would say because it's ';faster'; and ';easier';. Do they not realize that typing ';lyke'; takes the same amount of time as ';like';?

Hey I'm teen and realize that typing ';like'; so many times its awful but some are in rush and haven't gotten and training in typing and right now Ive had some but cant control being a professional typewriter yet. You use the word ';like'; when you want to say something, but you want to tell them about the story kinda. Almost like the word ';right?';
(ex. ';and he was all over this girl, right?';)
And I have a lot of friends who type very good like me. The ';bad'; teens just type it like this. (Hey dud, u remembr 2 bring meh da soda?)

I am a teenager and I don't type that way, and most of my friends dont either. People just type like that because they just are used to other people doing that. and I am pretty sure that I have seen many adults type just as badly too.
If you're going to criticize teenagers on their typing, at least you could do it with proper grammar...

FYI ';teens'; do not type bad and if we did do that then it's because we type the way we talk and think it sounds in our heads. It's a fact the word ';like'; is said a lot.
I guess it's all that texting, drugs, drinking and rebellion we do. It must have an effect on our ability to press the keys on a keyboard properly.

I understand completely, sometimes I can not even answer a question because I do not understand it. Maybe they are not reading afterward.
I'm 18, and all my life I've tried to type as well as I possibly can without using internet acronyms and at least try to type with proper grammar.
Teenagers are so stereo typed for hoodies etc. Im 19 and i never type like that, everyone presumes all teenagers are the same but infact i know people alot older than me that are far more imature and cant spell at all.

i definitely agree! i mean, you don't have to talk like a 60 year old but at least make your sentences logical and legible!
not all of us write like that. So get your facts straight. That is how they want to write, so leave them alone. Nobody tells you how to write.
