Why do teenagers express their burning desires to be different by dressing exactly the same?

Because their burning desire to be different is curbed by the even greater desire not to be ostracised from their society.

Most ';rebels'; are in fact just conforming to another social group... the ';rebellious group';, defined by not being ';normal'; - i.e. not all dressing exactly the same as the ';normal'; fashion, which leads to them all dressing exactly the same, on the opposite side of the spectrum

Don't you love teenagers :pWhy do teenagers express their burning desires to be different by dressing exactly the same?

What teens want is to be different than we adults, not each other.
