Should all teenagers have to do community service ?

why or why not ?Should all teenagers have to do community service ?
No.

1) it is illegal, U.S. Constitution, Amendment 13: Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime where of the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

2) it is a corrupting influence...The teenagers won't get to choose their ';Community Service'; projects...otherwise they would all contribute their time to the Nintendo Center for advanced Videogame Research. So who gets to pick? Well the pet projects of the bureaucrats involved that's who! (incidentally these are the same people who will all get cush government jobs running the program).

You think any of the Pro-Life Groups are going to get people helping them on ';Service Projects?';. You think the National Rifle Association will? What about a Catholic Adoption Center like the ones that shut down rather than adopt out kids to gay couples? Will an ROTC unit get help? Will someone get assigned to clean up the National Guard Depot? Can you think of a single conservative group that will get someone assigned to help them?

No...they will all mysteriously wind up being assinged to ';Non-partisan voter registration drives'; run by ';non-partisan'; groups like ACORN and ';Rock the Vote';...which were thinly veiled arms of the Obama Campaign

3) It's no longer ';Community Service'; if it is forced.

4) The kids won't want to be there and will wind up being more trouble than they are worth. You will wind up hiring a large group of otherwise unemployable sociology majors to sit around getting fat government paychecks and ';coordinate'; the ';deployement'; of teenagers who will all claim to do 20 hours of work a year, but in reality only actually do about half of that. It would be a lot cheaper to just use the money to hire real workers.

Should all teenagers have to do community service ?
yes because you should want to help those who are less fortunate than you.

yes bacause it , i kno it sounds cliche, builds good character and teaches you how to be compassionate and kind

yes because it opens a teenager'seyes to new things and increaes thier understanding

yes it is great for collage

yes its a fun expirence

yes it makes you a good person and makes you feel like a good person!!!!

SOME ADVICE:

CHOOSE SOMETHING IN YOUR INTREST

-MAYBE HOBBIES OR WHAT YOU THINK YOU WILL BE WHEN YOU GROW UP

community service is the same thing as volenteering......

some parents will pay you to do community service so you help the unfortunate [without pay or salary] and make money [if you are looking

for a job]

No, teenage employment is low enough as it is, we don't need another reason to discourage teens from getting jobs.

Some people may see mandatory community service as a way to get lazy teens to do something useful for the community, but it callously punishes those teens, especially lower income teens, who have jobs and are already working the hardest.
I don't see why they should be forced to do community service, especially when they have to be studying for exams or have problems of their own, if they want to do it then they can.

No. I don't think all teenagers should have to do community service.
It's a nice idea in theory, but isn't practical for everyone. Some teens work, they have homework, they babysit younger siblings, they don't want to have to ';help'; in a childcare centre or anything close to home, but aren't able to travel further afield, their parents have enough to do without trying to fit in this too...
I don't think community service should be required. Encouraged, yes, but not forced. I think forcing people to do something like that runs too much of a risk of making them hate it, which in turn makes the chance that would choose to serve in the future much, much lower.
No, they shouldn't. There should be opportunities for them to serve their community, but they should not be forced to do so. Service comes from a willing sense of duty, not from someone standing over you making you do something.
at my high school, they keep pressuring us to do all of this community service so it will look good for college. I'm just too busy to do that with my job, my after school activities, my homework.
No. Community serviced is used as a punishment. What kind of message would that send teenagers? You're no better than a criminal simply by virtue of your age?
should all pensioners knit clothes for everybody
No let them grow up and do national service!
yes!!
i don't think so
