Why are some teenagers so violent today?

Local high school hockey game turned into near riot when fans from opposing teams started fighting, police had to come to quiet them down. Where are the parents of these young people, or were they raised in the woods by wolves. Why are some teenagers so violent today?
I feel it is because we live in a society with no shock value. There is no horror left in the world we see graphic violence in video games, movies and television shows nothing is left to the imagination. In my fathers life time reports from the battlefield were told of desperation and human sacrifice.in my life time I watched Walter Cronkite give body counts like it was a ballgame score.Nothing is real to anyone because we do not feel the consequences of our actions it is always someone Else's fault. Why are some teenagers so violent today?
angry undereducated negro's are a major problem today for youth violence
parent's that don't parent

schools not allowed to discipline

Bible out of school

take your pick or all three work for me
You've summed it up well. Parental falure is the most under-rated problem in our society today!
i think because of their environment. what they see especially on watching television. parents should guide their kids what progrms should be watched.
Parents are not taking responsibility for their children. They are growing up without guidance which is the reason that they do not know how to make sound decisions.
Violent video games

Violent movies

Rap music

The increasing divorce rate and abuse in the home

The list goes on and on. Kids are just not taught right from wrong nowadays.
black people. (as racist as it sounds, its true)
if they had been raised in the woods like me!! they would not feel the need to take out there aggression in unapproate places

in today's society aggression is not politically correct but it is part of every person to some extent, it flows into all of us weather it is a drop once a hour into the great lakes, or a steady faucet flowing into a bathroom sink, it comes as a steady flow and if it is not drained in a constructive manner like splitting wood (my favorite) or lifting weights, or driving nails to frame a new house, or any other constructive form of violence. The container the aggression is filling will spill over its banks and cause damage that people do not want, and can get the person with out the proper release in a lot of trouble
Aside from possible drug use and peer pressure...I think it's probably from a lack of structure and discipline in their lives. A lot of parents are too busy to be involved in their kids' lives these days and there aren't quite as many stay-at-home moms. Lots of those that do stay home are either living off of valium or they're not happy because their husbands are working all the time so the wife can stay home. It's hard to find a happy medium in life. Another thing is...not very many kids have a lot of hope. There's too much controversy over God and a purpose to this life, so kids are a little confused about the direction the world will take and they sometimes get depressed and angry and they get involved with drugs and alcohol, violence, whatever. A lot of teenagers are just not truly happy and therefore the violence and inappropriate behaviors surface, like you have described....IMO.
violent? kids can't get in fights today because you get like suspended or expelled because people are afraid some retard phsco kid is gonna bring a gun to school.
shut up.
b/c times are changing and everybody thinks their gang bang hardcore....
