Does anybody think that myspace is bad for young teenagers?

Myspace is no worst than anything else where personal information can be shared over the Internet. If the teenagers are educated and informed about the risks, it should be safe enough. Your best bet as a parent is to be involved and supervise your kids Internet usage. You should also review the security setting on the kids myspace accounts which can go a long way to protecting the kids from on-line predators. For example, you can block profiles from being viewed by anyone that is not approved.Does anybody think that myspace is bad for young teenagers?

Diffently can be.. This is a popular place for sex offenders to find their prey. They have all the information they ever need on you..
I think it's bad for anybody to give out too much info about themselves on the internet, but I've seen it from both young kids and adults who should be old enough to know better. And not just on myspace.

Like others said, Myspace is only a problem if the teens aren't supervised. As well, if the teen puts down their real age (many lie and say they're older than they really are on Myspace) and they are 16 or under, their profile is automatically set to private. This means that someone must be added to the teen's friend list before they can see the teen's profile. It's not a perfect form of protection but, it helps a little and with parental supervision, it's even better. The first page below has safety tips for using Myspace. The second shows the terms of using the site, which clearly state the age requirements and that all info must be accurate.
Hell yeah, everybody is on that site. You have pictures, you have there info, there friends, there hobbies, there location, there town, etc.
