Would You recommend the book Frankenstein to teenagers?

Explain why you Would do soWould You recommend the book Frankenstein to teenagers?
If you are a teenager looking for horror then I would say, ';No';. Shelley's work, while of the horror genre, is not so much a horror story as a 21st.century teenager might consider it. But rather it is a story that examines the question of what, and by what I mean WHO is the real monster. The perceived ';monstrous'; creation of Dr. Frankenstein is in fact a confused and deeply sensitive creature who is a victim of his circumstance... And while she was a teenager when she wrote this now classic tale, she was an 1818 ';intelectual'; teenager with an entirely different view of the world...Would You recommend the book Frankenstein to teenagers?
Of course I would recommend ';Frankenstein'; to teenagers! It is a classic 19th century literature piece that had strong influence in both literature and popular culture. It began a complete genre of horror stories, many of which became unforgettable films, as well. ';Frankenstein'; is often thought of as the first actual science fiction novel because of the focus on creating life from dead flesh though the use of speculative scientific processes.

Finally, ';Frankenstein'; was written by a teenager! Mary Shelley began writing it at age 18, finishing it at age 19. What a great example she was!

Yes, that's a good piece of literature and one of the first science fiction novels ever. They've heard the story so they won't find it too shocking. It gives you the chance to discuss a range of human emotions and give ethics issues some thought--including that issue we still need to worry about--can science go too far, and just being able to do something doesn't mean that you should do it.
I wouldn't. Frankenstein, to most teenagers, is a very boring book. Horror and science fiction today is filled with romance and gore and Frankenstein, although one of the pioneers of horror (in my opinion), is not exactly up to date.
Why not...its a famous classic. I think the movies did it a great injustice. Mary Shelley wrote it to amuse her guests during the long dark winters....I suppose people were easily amused in the late 19th century because there was no tv...Also that would account why folks had large families....';Well dear,not much to do tonight lets go and make some babies...';
i would recommend the book to anyone. I think its a great fun yet scary novel and its interesting to see who and how the true monstrosity came about.
I would recommend Dean Koontz's Frankenstein trilogy to teenagers, I just read the last one, it was good.
I did not because I am a teenager
