How to convience teenagers that popularity is not important and pop-music is stupid?

Assuming that you are a teen yourself... are you on some kind of a mission or somethin??

Music is just music. Its sweet to be silly and popularity is a hormonal trick so you have to change human dna to change that! How to convience teenagers that popularity is not important and pop-music is stupid?
Well, I'm a teenager, and I do not care at all about popularity. :) But if they like pop music, then it's pretty foolish and immature of you to convince them that it's stupid just because you don't like it.How to convience teenagers that popularity is not important and pop-music is stupid?
LOL, says the nerd.
You can't. They will laugh at themselves later in life just as we do at our teenage years. Let them have fun being silly and following trends!
u r just (there is more

RUDE! we like the music cuz it happy music, and we allknow that it doesnt matter to be popular, its things we like.....but i think as we grow older, things will deffintly change, BIG TIME! so telax, dont get mad or sad of what she or he likes, its them!
they will find out on their own ( i learned when i was 12)
you don't

we'll figure it all out eventually

'sept me

i already know that

and as 4 the music-- it's not rite to not let us listen to our own intrests in music
Not sure about the pop music one but for me, I never was concerned about popularity and I think it was mostly due to the amount of world experience I had. I travelled frequently growing up to all parts of the world and the more I understood how small my home was, the less I cared about if I was the most popular kid in my school.

Other things became important - like my character, how I treated others, pursuing my education, trying to achieve my goals etc. Seeing how many people are out there, how different everyone is, how unique everyone's experiences are minimized the importance of wearing the ';right'; brand of jeans.
I am 14 and I am VERY unpopular and I HATE popular people. They make me want to vomit.

I would NEVER want to be popular and I HATE pop music.

I like rock n roll baby!

and who the hell cares about being popular? pfft.
You can't. My mom still talks about how stupid the music I listen to is, and I'm almost 20.

Pop music is only stupid to those who do'nt like it, just like classical, hiphop, R%26amp;B, country, metal, etc.. are all stupid to those who don't like those types of music.

When they're 30 and looking back on their teen years, they'll be able to laugh at their choices.

Just let em be kids.
It's something that they need to learn on there own, and for them right now it is very important.
You may not be able to tell THEM this but if you simplify it down you might be able to get a point across. Popularity is a hierarchy that is unjust and destructive. Those who do not fit in are one of two things intelligent or mentally unbalanced. Those who do fit in are programed by a destructive standard. They HAVE to be attractive, usually stupid, and in essence WHAT THEY ARE NOT!!! Popularity is also no good in the long run. Sure you have a cute boyfriend/girlfriend but most teenager relationships last for only a few months if your 12-14 and maybe if EVER a year or two. Those who do find a lifelong partner are certainly not the king or queen of the school. Popularity also is unjust by the requirement to mock those beneath you no matter who they are!! Dearly hope this helps.
in my opinion you probably wont be able to, just like our parents didnt convince us. they have their own mind. i think we should learn to talk to them instead of trying to change them, unless it is dangerous behavior.
Just can't do it. You have to live and learn through that one! I still laugh at the stupid stuff I did as a kid. I was aproduct of the 80's! The clothes we wore! I remember a trend in my school that girls would wear stretch pants with a long denim button up shirt. To complete the ensemble, we wore a tie(a TIE!!!!!) and brown penny loafers! I still have my Garfield tie!!! Think of all the goofy things that you did!!!!
popularity is important....everyone enjoys being liked! as far as pop music....everyone has their own tastes! tell them it is stupid....the louder they will turn it up!!
