It is sad but true. When I was a teen I thought it was going to be so cool being an adult and being able to do what I want, when I want. The problem with that is, yes I can do what I want, when I want but I also have to worry about work and family and food and all that other crap. I wish I could go back to when I was a kid and just enjoy being a kid and quit trying to grow up so fast. Why are teenagers in such a hurry to grow up?
those are probaly people that have a lot of problems only teens face and they want to escape it.Why are teenagers in such a hurry to grow up?
Too many parents don't spend time with their children, either because they have work, travel, or their own leisurely activities to follow. A kid who's left alone will be forced to learn to take care of themselves. This is encouraged by parents who don't want to spend time teaching them, so they leave money out for them, drop them off at various places, and then go enjoy their own time. The result is that kids get used to not having adult supervision and go crazy. They do drugs, they commit crimes, spread/catch disease, and randomly procreate because no one's there to stop or guide them.
To sum it up, it's not the teenagers who are in a hurry to grow up, but it's the parents who are not there to let them be kids.
This is the result of two-income families; both parents must work just to make ends meet. Parents just don't have the time to be the parents they really need to be.
With little parental control - teenagers raise themselves and grow up way too fast.
Years ago, when there was only one bread winner - teenagers never got into trouble and they did not grow up as fast. Life was so much easier.
they dont want to grow up it was forced on them
im a teen we dont wanna grow up fast we just like r normal and go with our instincts
I'm 13 and in the 9th grade cuz I skipped, and I think that makes me kind of NOT want to grow up too fast at the moment. All my friends r always talkin bout how they can't wait to graduate, but I'm actually not so sure. I want to go to college for sure but, having to fend for yourself is a little scary. I don't think that we are in a hurry to grow up. It's just that when we're getting in trouble or yelled at, we can't wait until we get old enough to move out and get our own place, but when you're in a tough situation and u don't know how you're going to get out, you really want to go to your parents for help, but you remember all the things you said about leaving and growing up while you were stomping up the steps and slamming your door behind you that we don't. Whew!
