Why do Teenagers truly believe that they're in love?

when they break up like a month later?

How can you tell if something (concerning love and other feelings) is real? Why do Teenagers truly believe that they're in love?
Because they are inexperienced in the matters of love. Most of them have no idea what love is yet. In time, they will learn. Why do Teenagers truly believe that they're in love?
Quite honestly, you can't, which is part of the reason why teenagers will inevitably make the wrong choices in partners. Heck, it wasn't until I got to my 20's before I realized that the times I thought I was in love were most likely just really intense crushes! :p The real reason teens think their love is the real deal is simply that, until then, their hormones weren't so strongly involved. It's the combination of emotions AND hormonal desire that makes for such intense feelings about a crush. How can you tell if it's real? Real love is as much about respect as it is desire. Just because you feel attracted to someone, or feel like you can't live without them, doesn't mean you're in love. Real love means that you want what's best for that person, even if it means that they end up with someone else. After all, if you love them, then you respect their decisions and desires, not just your own. It also means that you don't treat them like a piece of meat, to be lusted after. If you can't honestly picture being with that person if, say, their face was disfigured in an accident, then it was never really love...just lust. In short, most teen romances are about lust, as are most adult romances, but hopefully by the time you are past the surge of hormones, you'll be able to tell the difference. Good luck! :)
I really honestly don't know. I mean, I could see if you were dating for a year %26amp; you're completely comfortable around them, and you know their families and stuff, yaknow? I'm 13, and my friend thinks she's just so in love with this kid because last summer they went out for like 3 months %26amp; like, they didn't even talk in person. I'd have to like put their hands together for them to hold hands, and they wouldn't talk whatsoever. They talked on the computer, and thats it. And she still claims she's ';in love'; with him. %26amp; I think you can tell that you are when you can be your complete self around them %26amp; you really truly love them.
It really all depends on the situation and the couple.

True love is noticeable so it shouldn't be hard to tell.

Break ups are part of true love.

only the real ones come back.
because we don't no the difference. dont believe your in true love. my heart is broken now. i still love him. so much. and he loves me too. but is going out with another girl. we're young and foolish. i love him so much.
I'm 26, When looking back I was actually in love twice as a teen, and when it all feel apart I look back and it hurt just as bad as it would today if I fell in love and it didn't work out.
