Edward was the firs because he was dying and his mother beg carlisle to save him and he was lonely so he did.


then he wanted a partner for himself and changed Esme and then he changed Rosalie so she could be a partner for Edward but Edward was not interested and the Rosalie found Emmet and took him to carlisle so he would change him for her


Alice and jasper were not changed by carlisle.
First off, I do not think esme was a teenager. I think she was in her early 20's. If I remember right, he was just over a teenager himself when he accidentally got turned. He only changed edward, rosalie, and emmit. Alice doesn't know who her creator was and Jasper was turned by a group of harpie like females while he was in the army. He changed rosalie because he thought she and edward would be mates, but they didn't get along like that. Rosalie felt pulled towards emmit and since he was near death she had Carlisle change him. Rosalie was to be married, but got the sh*t beat out of her by her fiancee's friends. She was almost dead too. He never intended to change anyone but Rosalie for edward, it just didn't work out like that. Esme was in the process of killing herself when Carlisle turned her too. Alice and Jasper just happened to be teens when they were changed as well, or well at least Jasper was. Alice's origins still remain unknown.
Its just coincidence that most of them were teenagers. Carlisle wanted to change them to stop them from dying. He changed Edward because he was dying from sickness. Esme tried to commit suicide and jumped off a cliff and he wanted her to be his wife. Rosalee was attacked and Carlisle wanted a wife for Edward (that didnt work out tho) and I totally forgot why Emmett was changed. But Alice and Jasper were already vampires when they found the Cullens and wanted to be a member of their family. So you see, them being teenagers had nothing to do with it.

Because they turned out to be ';teenagers';, I guess. But the thing is, you never know their ';real'; age (their body age, you could say). They say they're 17/18 to most humans, but they never say how old their body really is. They could have been changed at the age of 20 for all we know.
Esme wasn't a teen. I think he was looking for a protege at first.


I think teens were more impressionable,they would listen to him. He is like their father. Then he did the others like alice and Rosalie because they were in love with his adoptive children.
They were all going to die anyway. And nobody would have really noticed. Being teenagers had nothing to do with it. If you read the books then you wouldn't need to ask.
Because only teenagers are hot. Whyever would he have cared about anyone who wasn't high school age?

because you can't turn someone under a certain age into a vampire.If you read the thing about Immortal Children that would explain the whole thing.
